Episode 18: Supreme Court Wins

Hi Friends.  Thank you for tuning into another episode of Pandocap. It was a historic week across the USA with 2 Supreme Court decisions regarding the LGBTQ community and DACA.

As we continue to see the market levels at higher averages, investors are still hoping for a V shaped recovery.  The concerns that investors have that could deviate from the recovery involve the resurgence of infection rates from the reopening of state economies as we are seeing in the measures Apple is taking, the civil unrest with diversity and inclusivity, we are still seeing higher unemployment numbers, and continued bankruptcies.

As the younger generation continues to take an interest in the capital markets they are seen to be driving some of the  retail movement in the markets.  We saw some of that movement with companies like Hertz, DraftKings and Norwegian.  Many seasoned Wall Street types have concerns of the retail frenzy but at this point Robinhood and others are going full steam ahead.

Moving on to the Markets

Dow down 208 pts 25,871

S&P down 17 pts 3,097

Nasdaq up 3 pts 9,946

US equity market indices ended the day mixed as the Dow and the S&P lost ground and the NASDAQ closed flat.

IPO

There have been many articles about the IPO market charging back with new tech filings and August being the new window for the IPO market.  Both consumer and tech have an interest in the public markets as we see Albertsons filing for their public debut.  Yes Albertsons!
