Episode 9: Build Disruptors
Thank you for tuning into another episode of Pandocap. We started off the week with small gains on the market and then things went downhill from that point. The volatility was based on news coming out from Fed Chair Powell addressing the current state as being the worst decline since WWII. Unemployment numbers reached 36 million while retail is predicting the closure of over 100k stores as a result of the shut down.
We are now seeing the markets start to react to the current state of affairs; but it's not all bad news. We are moving to the next phase which I believe will drive great innovation. We have to remember, regardless of how bad it gets, we are a great country which attracts talent and drives investment in our capital markets. I will be sharing with you some exciting news of companies which are building in the US, creating solutions, and could become part of the next revolution. These companies will be the “Build Disruptors” and the foundation for opportunities locally. More to come over the next couple weeks as we help share their story.
Moving to today’s market close, we were up slightly across the Dow, S&P and Nasdaq, still having the worst week since March.
Today’s IPO ADC Therapeutics, a Swiss biotech focused on difficult-to-treat cancers, priced at $19 and closed XX and traded up 56 percent above its market range. Now that was a pop in the IPO!
Next week we will be looking for more guidance on how states are reopening. I will have a special guest to discuss the transition of working from home to going back to post-covid office culture. Thank you again for tuning in and have a great weekend.
